The tiny Colombian pueblo of Barichara will always have a special spot in our memories of this journey. ⁣ ⁣ We spent 4 nights free-camped at a viewpoint in town with a million dollar view in our backyard. We took misty morning hikes to Colombian farm towns that time forgot. We bumped noses with curious cows. We ate weird food (cow udder) and met new people. We spent NYE learning new Colombian traditions with the most welcoming family you could imagine. ⁣ ⁣ We left Barichara with a new appreciation of just how incredible Colombia could be... which has only been proven correct in the past few weeks. #eatweirdfoodandmeetnewpeople

It's certainly not easy to bring your truck from the USA to Colombia. But if you have the time, inclination, and gumption to get here, it's beyond worth it. This country is amazing.⁣ ⁣ Views like this in Colorado would have 14 kitted out "overlanding" trucks lined up for their drone shots. We've just got two dirty old Toyota's who have more rattles and dents than Instagram followers... and that's just the way we like it. #makememoriesnotcontent

She's the picture of grace on the land and in the water...⁣🧜‍♀️ ⁣ Lindsay has been talking about scuba diving again since we first met at 16 years old, while scuba diving on vacation. She completed her PADI Open Water in Colombia just a few days ago. 7 dives in 3 days... she was born for the water!

Stopping at a local restaurant to eat a fish caught by fisherman who are mostly too poor to afford even an outboard motor on their boats certainly gives you some perspective. Now that we're in South America and traveling slower, I'm looking forward to finding a project to help some local communities.

30,000k miles, 2,000 gallons of gas, 1 minor light pole incident, 1 flat tire, and the endless kindness of both friends and strangers. That's all it took to start drawing the little blue line in a new continent. #lupitasworldtour

Getting Lupita out of her box took a little longer than any of us expected. It's supposed to be a 2-day process after the ship lands, and that turned into 5 days for us because of an unknown paperwork error on the Colombian side. ⁣ ⁣ If everything goes well, you just follow the steps from your shipping agent and after two days you leave with your vehicle. A friend in an adjacent container on the same ship had that exact experience. In our case, nothing seemed to go right after Day 1 and no one knew what was wrong. Each agency was blaming the other and no one admitted their paperwork was wrong. Eventually we found that the paperwork from our shipping company was the culprit. But hey, who doesn't want to spend 6hrs each day in Colombian government buildings?!
